Vangard Voice Systems receives $2 Million Series B funding commitment from Berkshire Ventures, LLC
New investment fuels continued penetration of first Mobile Voice Platform into enterprise
IRVINE, Calif. Vangard Voice Systems, Inc., the innovative provider of AccuSpeech® Mobile voice technology and the first Mobile Voice Platform (MVP) for enterprise-wide voice deployment, today announced that it has secured its $2 million Series B round of funding from Berkshire Ventures, LLC. While the investment community has tightened its purse strings during this economic downturn, the new round of funding signifies a vote of confidence for Vangard as well as the MVP. The MVP is the first and only standards-compliant platform for adding voice-directed data capture and control capabilities to existing enterprise mobile applications. The investment will drive continued penetration of the MVP at FORTUNE-class companies, expand its network of market leading channel partners, and extend its offering of turnkey services for voice modeling and development.
"The tactical, operational and strategic value of Vangard's Mobile Voice Platform is being acknowledged, embraced and adopted by many of the world's largest companies in the transportation, retail, food services and government markets," said Franz M. Jaggar, managing partner, Berkshire Ventures, LLC. "This second round investment will speed Vangard's penetration into the FORTUNE-class enterprise market and expand its network of market-leading partners which now includes Motorola, Wavelink, Agilysys, Nuance Communications, Excalibur Integrated Systems and others."
Now, more than ever, voice technology is a critical consideration by enterprise IT organizations due to business pressures driven by uncertainty in energy, consumer spending and lending and investment markets and related government policies.
"Global economic trends are driving commercial and government adoption of voice technology to further reduce operational costs, optimize mobile worker productivity, improve customer responsiveness and seek out new competitive advantages," said Bob Bova, president and chief executive officer, Vangard Voice Systems. "The Mobile Voice Platform is a pivotal technology for our enterprise customers. Deploying voice anywhere across the enterprise enables IT organizations to achieve dramatic bottom-line results. This new investment from Berkshire Ventures will solidify our enterprise market position while further increasing share-holders' investment value."
Vangard's MVP non-invasively voice powers existing Web-, device- or server-based mobile enterprise applications, providing commercial and government IT enterprises a rapid, full lifecycle solution for voice-powering existing mobile applications and business processes.
